‘Aberfeldy Weem Hotel – highland hospitality made special ’.
The Weem Hotel is a quite delightful small highland country hotel, formerly a historic Coaching Inn situated at the foot of Weem Rock, near Aberfeldy. Best remembered, and famous as barracks for General Wade’s troops while building the nearby bridge to cross the River Tay in the 18th century. And it still retains that rather magical, authentic, distinctly highland country inn atmosphere and charm – so reminiscent of a bygone era, and so rare these days. ‘Contemporary traditional’ is our hallmark.
This quality hotel is family owned and is a sister hotel of famous Dunalastair at Kinloch Rannoch, and of Loch Tummel Inn near the Queens View, Pitlochry. We are friendly and flexible, the atmosphere is relaxed and our emphasis is on a complete, authentic highland hospitality experience, first class service and fresh local food from the best of Scotland’s Natural Larder which abounds and surrounds here, tastefully nurtured and prepared so that the local flavours truly shine through.
Guests will enjoy 16 comfortable, rustic ensuite rooms, each decorated simply yet very tastefully – and the substantial Scottish breakfast is highly recommended! Lovely lounges and a beer garden and patio allow perfect relaxation.
Ideal for private functions such as birthday parties or anniversaries – and we can also host civil and religious wedding ceremonies and receptions as well as catering for all your special needs. A smaller venue is available for meetings or coffee mornings; great food can be provided on either a smallish budget – or on a grander scale from highland buffets to gala dinners and banquets.
There are many great walks nearby for beginners and the more experienced. Castle Menzies and The House of Menzies are our next door neighbours. Enjoy superb local loch and river salmon and trout fishing – and wonderful highland golf at Taymouth, Kenmore and Pitlochry in particularly – there is also a delightful little highland parkland 18 hotel course, more or less on our doorstep, at Aberfeldy. The nearby Dunalastair Activity Centre is available for all guests – and the area is famous for possibly Scotland’s best range of outdoor adventure pursuits, from exhilarating rafting, canoeing and kayaking on Scotland’s best rapids – and zorbing – to superb 4 x 4 driving, adventure safaris, eco-challenges and pony treks – and delightful loch cruising on nearby Loch Tay.
