For centuries travelers have enjoyed the famous West Highland welcome at this family-run lochside Inn. With twelve en-suite rooms, all with loch views, a loch-view restaurant, a loch-view bar and a warm and relaxing residents lounge, the Inn is the perfect base to explore the beauty of the area. The islands of Mull, Iona and Skye are all close enough for a day trip as are Glencoe, Ben Nevis, Fort William, Oban, Aonoch Mor ski resort, Glenfinnan, the Morar Sands, Mallaig, Ardnamurchan and Loch Ness. This is Jacobite country and it’s wild beauty gives understanding to the fierce loyalty the people have for the area.
The area provides walking form the flat to the challenging. The wildlife is plentiful from the water – Grey Seals, Sea Otters, Herons, Porpoises and Dolphins have all been spied from the windows of the Inn – to the land – Red Deer, Golden Eagles, Pine Martens, Badgers and Wild Goats – to the sky – Barn Owls, Sea Eagles, Golden Eagles, Cormorants, Shags, Guillemots, Buzzards and Eider Ducks. There are local distilleries where you can taste the “Water of Life”, lochs and rivers where the fishing is plentiful, even the famous Jacobite Steam Train that runs from Fort William to Mallaig and was used in the Harry Potter films.
When you return from your day, good company can be found in the bar where an extensive range of malt whisky is available. But be careful, our drams are sold in 35ml measures. The loch-view restaurant serves traditional Scottish Fayre using local produce wherever possible. Mussels from Loch Eil, Venison from the Great Glen, Salmon from the local lochs and Beef from Lochaber are all regularly available. Bar meals and lighter snacks are also available. We are a completely non-smoking establishment. We welcome pets by prior arrangement.
Best of all are the stunning views and remember, you are on holiday, so relax!!
