WELCOME TO SCOTTISH INNS
Enjoy
our little site, and discover the history and charm of some genuine Scottish
country inns. Visit one, or some, when you next tour or visit Scotland.
Discover how delightfully different they are, and enjoy wonderful, often
quite stylish - but blissfully understated, rustic accommodation ideal
for both business and leisure visitors and travellers to Scotland.
Magical and characterful, they are just perfect for holidays and short
breaks in Scotland with a real difference. You will also discover many
of Scotland's culinary delicacies in our great selection of the choicest
places for food, ale and - of course - whisky.
Expect wonderful hosts, caring, individual hospitality, crackling open
fires and loads of history. Most are delightfully situated in idyllic,
quiet country or small village locations in areas of historic significance
and outstanding natural beauty. Scotch whisky, and malt whisky in particular,
are synonymous with country inns too, and many great inns are found in
some of Scotland's very best castle and whisky country.
Real Scottish country inns are about warmth, cosy character and fun, lovely
owners, superb local Scottish cuisine usually with a home cooking style,
often prepared by ‘mine host’ - and are certainly not to be
confused with modern ‘travel inns’, ‘big hotel’
corporate thinking, mentality and boring standardisation!
